Innovative bioclimatic architecture in Germany is typically used by the private, business-driven economy, which is where this conviction arises. As a society, whose buildings as a whole are concerned, it is taxpayers' money and its prudent use which always poses limits to production costs when compared with the observance of long-term operating and maintenance costs. Major buildings, an exception here, are created by public builders for which limited resources and relative virtue allow for creative innovation.

A limited, precise material palette requires a precise mode of construction. The use of metal, wood and acoustic materials create a thermally sound concrete outer shell, which shapes the interior. With concrete in a sustainable, simple and more efficient and holistic prefabricated application, the sophisticated thermal performance expectations increase. The central mediating form functions as follows: it bears, wraps, and transports light and thermal stores, as well as opens and closes infinitely, allowing view relations which invite one to linger. The concept of a warm thermal core enclosed within a porous shell creates the framework of a multifunctional cafeteria / classroom / meeting room within the school and beyond for the community and society.
